Carla Gonçalves Borges was invited to join NOVA School of Law's Alumni Council, an advisory panel created in 2024 by the institution's director.

The Alumni Council is a non-organisational body whose main function is to advise the faculty's management, providing feedback on various issues that may affect alumni relations and the school's involvement with the NOVA School of Law community and society in general.
Council members come from a wide range of professions and academic backgrounds. In addition to Carla Gonçalves Borges, members of the Council include Ariana Simões de Almeida (United Nations), Dussu Djabula (PLMJ), Fatima Dermawan (Sands China Ltd. ), Filipe Vaz Pinto (Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles, Soares da Silva), Francisco Pedro Balsemão (Impresa), João Maria Botelho (Global Shapers), Marcelo Zenkner (FTI Consulting), N'Gunu Tiny (Emerald Group) and Sofia Riço Calado (Cloudfare).
