Vera Lúcia Raposo speaker at Hospital da Luz
Vera Lúcia Raposo, consulting associate at VdA as well as lecturer on criminal law and researcher on medical law at the University of Coimbra Faulty of Law, is guest speaker at the 2nd Symposium on Ethics at Hospital da Luz, which will be taking place at the hospital's auditorium on the 9 November, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m..
Vera Lúcia Raposo's lecture will approach Wrongful Actions in Pregnancy. Wrongful Actions refer to a varied scope of legal claims. In her lecture Vera Lúcia Raposo will be approaching two specific types. On one hand, wrongful birth actions, brought by progenitors against doctors and/or hospitals for lacking to detect an embryo or a foetus' malformation or for not having provided that information to them, thus violating their reproductive freedom. On the other hand, wrongful life actions brought in the name of the child against doctors and/or hospitals for the above mentioned wrongful medical acts and which have allegedly caused such difficult living conditions.
