António de Magalhães Cardoso, Head Partner, took part as a speaker at the 7th Intellectual Property Congress, organised by the Almedina Group and the Portuguese Intellectual Property Law Association (APDI), which took place on 4 and 5 December in Lisbon. The VdA Partner joined the panel 'The Unified Patent Court – a first assessment of its functioning', a topic to which he has been actively dedicated, notably through various publications in the field.
The event brought together specialists to discuss the most current topics in intellectual property, including the revision of the Industrial Property Code, an initial assessment of the functioning of the Unified Patent Court, and the issues raised in copyright law by the use of protected works through artificial intelligence programmes and on digital platforms.
In addition to António de Magalhães Cardoso, Marta Alves Vieira, Head Partner of IP Litigation Practice, and Ana Falcão Afonso, Principal Consultant, were also in attendance.
