Magda Cocco is speaking at the 11th Space Teachers' Conference, which takes place on 15 and 16 November at Pavilhão do Conhecimento in Lisbon.

This conference gathers teachers and experts from the aerospace sector for two days entirely dedicated to the study of Earth observation satellites. The programme includes topics such as communications and navigation systems, space debris and the sustainability of the used materials, as well as the growing importance of satellites and the contribution of Portuguese researchers and engineers in their construction.

Magda Cocco will take part in the round table ‘Satellites yes, space debris no!’, which aims to reflect on the international community's efforts to minimise and remove space debris. The VdA lawyer's intervention will focus on the legal implications of this waste.

The first day of the conference will also include two speeches by the European Space Agency (ESA), with Clara Niggebrugge, head of the European Space Education Resource Office (ESERO), and Sandra Benitez Herrera, Education Scientist and ESAC Communication Officer, presenting the ESA's new missions to the Solar System.

On the 16th, the programme comprises workshops for teachers who wish to develop activities on space science, offering new approaches to inspire and motivate students in this field.
