Assunção Cristas participated as a speaker in the 4th anniversary of the United Against Waste Movement (Movimento Unidos Contra o Desperdício), a civic and national initiative that aims to unite society in an active and positive fight against food waste.

At this event, the VdA lawyer joined the panel "United for the Planet", alongside Deolinda Silva, Executive Director of Portugal Foods, and Gonçalo Lobo Xavier, General Director of the Portuguese Association of Distribution Companies (APED), moderated by journalist Helena Garrido. The panel reflected on the commitment of civil society and organisations to a more circular economy, as well as the commitment of food distribution and the agri-food industry.

The annual meeting took place on 30 September, at the Planetário da Marinha, in Lisbon.
