VdA has been challenged by the Financial Times to participate in the FT Innovative Lawyers - Global Legal Hackathon Challenge, which will take place from April 27 to May 17.

This initiative, co-hosted by RSG Consulting, counts on the participation of the global legal industry in identifying solutions to the complex issues raised by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The goal is to harness the collective capacity and energy of recognized innovative entities to support communities, governments and sectors during this global emergency.

VdA will actively participate in this legal hackaton in partnership with Bi4ALL and the Catholic Lisbon School of Business & Economics, and also with the support of the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation and VdA Academia, having identified two challenges raised by the Covid-19 pandemic that need to be solved at a global level:
• How to facilitate risk groups’ equal access to fundamental rights while locked down or subject to restricted movement?
• During the COVID-19 crisis and in its aftermath, how to secure the movement of people and goods in a contactless and global environment?

FT Innovative Lawyers has already recognized VdA with the award of "Most Innovative Firm in Continental Europe" twice, as well as "Game Changer" firm which in 10 years has been most prominent in Continental Europe for its contribution to the evolution of the corporate law business.
