VdA, in partnership with the Portuguese Centre for Foundations, will host on 9 April a presentation session of the 'Practical Guide: Privacy and Personal Data Protection – Obligations and Risks', a tool developed to support the foundation sector.

In a context of increasing regulatory demands, public scrutiny and reputational risk, the management of personal data protection has become a critical aspect of foundations’ governance. The Guide has been designed as a practical tool to support organisations in complying with their legal obligations and mitigating associated risks.

The session will:

  • Present the main contents of the Practical Guide;
  • Clarify foundations’ legal obligations in relation to data protection;
  • Identify the most common legal and reputational risks;
  • Share best practices and operational recommendations;
  • Provide an opportunity for direct dialogue with VdA specialists.

The session will take place between 09:30 am and 11:30 am, online, with opening remarks by Ana Festas Henriques and José Nunes Liberato, President of the Portuguese Centre for Foundations. The Guide will be presented by Inês Antas de Barros.

The session is aimed at managers, technical staff and professionals responsible for areas such as governance, compliance, legal, human resources and communications, as well as those involved in the processing of personal data within foundations.
