Vieira de Almeida & Associados’ will be participating in a conference in Frankfurt on Restructuring Companies in Europe. The conference is organised by the German law firm Noerr LLP as part of its European Restructuring Day 2010, celebrated on May 7^th. VdA’s Frederico Gonçalves Pereira, partner in the Litigation area, has been invited to speak at the event.

For this meeting a variety of expert speakers have been invited to present successful case studies from 2009. Frederico Gonçalves Pereira will present a case study on the “insolvency plan for Qimonda Portugal, now called Nanium; the only successful case, on an international basis, of “recovery” for the Qimonda Group.

Firms from a number of European countries will be present for this “Noerr’s European Restructuring Day”, the only German pan-European platform for exchanging experiences and discussion of best practices in the area of company restructuring. In last year’s edition, and in front of an audience of CFOs representing important international companies, financial investors and heads of Venture Capital businesses discussed examples of company restructuring in Europe in the context of a difficult economic climate, and how such restructuring might be successful.
