National and international finance specialists join together at VdA

Vieira de Almeida & Associados (VdA) is hosting a meeting where national and international finance specialists join together to discuss the present challenges regarding lack of capital and lack of liquidity. Capital generating transactions and liability management from a national and international perspective will be some of the issues approached at the afternoon information session at VdA's auditorium, on the 17 November.

Stephen Miller, Allen & Overy's partner in charge of the debt department of the firm's Capital Markets area of practice and Adelaide Cavaleiro, deputy director of the Bank of Portugal (Banco de Portugal) will be guest speakers at the conference which will also be attended by VdA's managing partner João Vieira de Almeida, as well as partners Pedro Cassiano Santos, Pedro Simões Coelho and Paula Gomes Freire, from the Banking & Finance area of practice and José Pedro Fazenda Martins, VdA's Of Counsel who recently joined the firm after heading the Portuguese Securities Commission (CMVM) 's Markets and Corporate Finance Department.

The conference will take place between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. and lawyers Hugo Moredo Santos, Ana Rita Almeida Campos and Cláudia Cruz Almeida, from the Banking & Finance area of practice will also be delivering their input for the clarification of questions such as: "Lack of Capital and Liquidity and the Troika's MoU", and "Capital generating transactions". "Is there light at the end of the tunnel?" is the question VdA will be trying to answer after analyzing the "Strange year of 2011".
