Teresa Teixeira Mota (Senior Associate) will be a speaker at the 2023 WU Tax Law Technology Conference, dedicated to "Tax & Technology: Academic Perspectives and Implications for Tax Practice", promoted by the Institute of Austrian and International Tax Law and the Tax Law Technology Center of WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business).

This conference will address the challenges and opportunities of using technology in tax law, taking as a starting point practical issues relating to various taxes and international taxation areas. The conference will be attended by representatives of companies, lawyers and tax consultants, professors and researchers from academia and also representatives of the tax administration.

In a panel dedicated to the Digitalisation of Tax Inspections and Litigation, Teresa Teixeira Mota will discuss the main challenges ahead in this context, in particular the use of BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) and process mining in tax auditing and inspections, the advantages and limitations of representing tax legislation in the form of computer-readable and executable code, and how tax proposals of the digital economy change the paradigm of international tax litigation, together with Christian Weinzinger (Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance), Daniel Dallhammer (WU), Simon Hofstätter (Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance) and Dirk Schuster (Flick Gocke Schaumburg).
