João Vieira de Almeida has once again been recognised by Jornal de Negócios as one of the most influential figures of the year, featuring in the annual ranking that highlights the foremost national figures in the political, financial, and business spheres. In 2025, VdA’s Senior Partner ranks 39th on the list, maintaining his position in a ranking he has featured in for over a decade.

This recognition comes in a landmark year, during which João Vieira de Almeida was also named among the Financial Times 20 most influential figures in international law over the past two decades.
 
The distinction is attributed to ‘his leadership at VdA, as well as his impact on the business and legal advisory sector’, describing him as ‘an undisputed name in the world of business and economics’.

Furthermore, Jornal de Negócios highlights the work developed  by VdA over the past year, showcasing the awards and distinctions received as well as the significant transactions in which the Firm has been involved.

‘VdA was recently recognised by the international directory Legal 500, maintaining its position as a "Top Tier" Firm in 18 practice areas in the EMEA 2025 edition, covering the markets of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. It also received the "Law Firm Bonds" distinction at the Euronext Lisbon Awards for the 14th consecutive year. This distinction recognises the Firm as the most active in the capital markets area managed by Euronext Lisbon.
