Miguel Ventura, Of Counsel and Head of the Governance practice, contributed to the tenth edition of the training course on Compliance in the Insurance Sector, promoted by the Portuguese Insurance Association (APS), where he delivered the session dedicated to Sustainability.

The programme aims to equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of the European sustainability framework and the key regulatory initiatives shaping the insurance sector. The curriculum addresses ESG reporting obligations and the challenges inherent in their practical implementation, the evolution of the European regulatory landscape, and the reporting requirements associated with sustainability-related duties. It further examines the financial impact dynamics arising from sustainability risks, as well as the practical approaches to integrating these risks into Own risk and solvency assessment (ORSA) and the methodologies used for their quantification.
