As part of the COP30 programme, VdA is hosting the event 'Bridging the Global South: Legal Governance for Sustainable Food Systems, Fisheries, and Biodiversity', to be held on 20 November at the UNFCCC Pavilion (Blue Zone).

This high-level event will bring together leaders and experts from the Global South — including Portugal, Portuguese-speaking African countries, and Brazil — to discuss how sustainable food systems, responsible fisheries, and biodiversity conservation can drive fairer and more resilient development.

The session will highlight the role of South–South cooperation and legal governance in developing integrated solutions that enhance food security, protect marine and terrestrial ecosystems, and promote livelihoods resilient to climate change.

The debate will focus on legal frameworks, governance structures, and interregional partnerships that strengthen sustainable and inclusive policies.
