Elizabeth Sebastião

Elizabeth Sebastião joined VdA in 2024. She is a trainee in the Banking & Finance practice.

She has advised on various transactions at national and international level, with a focus on Portuguese-speaking Africa, Asia and Europe, including Angola, Portugal, Mozambique, Cape Verde and East Timor.

Elizabeth has contributed to various transactions involving the incorporation and licensing of financial institutions, namely banks and non-bank financial institutions, providing support from the structuring phase and definition of the institutional model through to engagement with the relevant regulatory authorities.

She also works on capital markets transactions, including public subscription offers, public exchange offers and public sale offers, as well as on corporate finance transactions, transactions involving the issue and transfer of debt securities, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and investment, particularly in restructuring processes and corporate privatisation , share purchase and sale transactions, as well as share capital increases and reductions.

Bachelor’s degree in Law from the Faculty of Law of the European University.

Postgraduate qualification in Corporate Finance from the Centre for Research in Private Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Lisbon.

Postgraduate degree in Corporate Governance from the Centre for Private Law Research at the Faculty of Law, University of Lisbon.

She was a trainee in the Corporate and M&A practice.

Before joining the Firm, she completed a summer internship at ASP Advogados – Sociedade de Advogados, then the exclusive Angolan member of the VdA Legal Partners network.

She was Chair of the General Assembly of the Angolan Students’ Association at the European University (2022–2024) and Vice-Chair of the General Assembly of the Law Students’ Association at the European University (2022–2023).

Admitted to the Portuguese Bar Association as a Trainee Lawyer.
