José Maria Lobo da Costa

José Maria Lobo da Costa rejoined VdA in 2026. He is a Senior Associate in the Infrastructure practice, where he has been actively involved in several projects and transactions in the infrastructure and transport sectors, both in Portugal and abroad.

He has advised several clients in these sectors, on regulatory, transactional, public procurement and contractual matters.

Law degree, Católica Lisbon Faculty of Law.

Masters in Law & Business, Católica Lisbon Faculty of Law and Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics.

Before joining the firm, he worked as part of Banco Invest’s legal department, as an Associate of CMS Portugal’s Lusophone Africa Team, as an Associate to VdA’s Infrastructure Team, as a member of the Cabinet of the Minister of Infrastructure and Housing and as an Advisor to the Secretary of State for Infrastructure.

Admitted to the Portuguese Bar Association.
