Catarina Carvalho Cunha

Catarina Carvalho Cunha joined VdA in 2015. She is a Managing Associate with the Litigation & Arbitration practice.

Catarina’s work is focused in assisting and representing clients on civil litigation and international and national commercial arbitration matters as well as corporate restructuring & insolvency. Her work includes advising clients with disputes in Portugal as well as the Portuguese-speaking jurisdictions Angola, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde, Sao Tome and Principe and East Timor. Catarina’s work also extends to the OHADA jurisdictions such as Equatorial Guinea, Cong, RDC and the Cameroons. 

Catarina has advised several clients in sectors such as Oil&Gas, shipping, aviation, hotel management and telecommunications, amongst others.

Law degree, Portuguese Catholic University (Lisbon), Faculty of Law.

Attended a post-graduation on Energy Law, Portuguese Catholic University (Lisbon), Faculty of Law.

Before joining the firm she worked at Miranda as both an Associate and Senior Associate where she widened her litigation and arbitration practice in the Portuguese speaking jurisdictions Angola, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde, Sao Tome and Principe, East Timor and Equatorial Guinea.

Before this she worked at AAA-Advogados and PLMJ as an Associate attorney.
