André Marques Piteira rejoined VdA in 2024. He is a managing associate in the IP Litigation practice, where he provides ongoing legal advice to clients from a wide range of sectors on industrial and intellectual property matters, notably on the best strategy to protect and exercise related rights.
He has vast experience in handling legal and arbitration disputes related to industrial property rights, having represented various national and international clients in patent infringement cases (particularly related to pharmaceutical patents), brand and design infringement cases, as well as invalidity and cancellation proceedings.

Before rejoining VdA, André worked for three years at Garrigues law firm, in their Lisbon office, where he advised clients on industrial and intellectual property matters, having participated in several disputes, particularly related to brand and design trademark infringements.
From 2013 to 2021, he worked at VdA and gained extensive experience in industrial property right disputes, particularly those related to pharmaceutical patents.
From 2011 to 2013, he worked as a trainee lawyer at CCA law firm.
