In the context of its Pro Bono Programme, VdA provided legal support for setting up the NGDO "Dialogue Café", a project developed by Cisco under the auspices of the Alliance of Civilizations (United Nations body chaired by Jorge Sampaio) and with the support of the Gulbenkian Foundation.

The Dialogue Café project was launched at the 2nd Forum of the Alliance of Civilizations held in Istanbul in April and its objective is to promote dialogue between different cultures and religions through the creation of a network of Cafés, located in major cities of some from the countries that have been victims of social, cultural and religious misunderstanding (such as Istanbul, Dubai, Beirut, New York, London). These cafés offer an opportunity for customers break down the different barriers that set them apart, through social contact, music and dialogue. All the Dialogue Cafés will have identical architecture and will be equipped with life-size, high-definition TelePresence screens, giving customers the impression they are at the same table as a customer in another Café in a different city.

In the context of its Pro Bono Programme, VdA will continue to provide legal support for the Dialogue Café project.
