Further to having been awarded the Chambers Award for Excellence 2011, Vieira de Almeida & Associados (VdA) stands out once more in Chambers Europe Guide 2012 with 47 individual nominations for the firm's lawyers and eight of its areas of practice classified in Band 1. These are Banking & Finance, Capital Markets, Competition & EU, Corporate/M&A, Planning, Projects, Restructuring & Insolvency and TMT.

The list of nominated lawyers is headed by Vasco Vieira de Almeida and Mário Esteves de Oliveira, considered as Senior Statesmen and Margarida Couto who is acknowledged as a Star Individual and further includes eight other lawyers in Band 1.

In a challenging time for the Portuguese economy, VdA has stood out in several areas of practice. Apart from Chambers Europe Award for Excellence 2011, the firm has just been considered Portuguese Firm of the Year 2012 by the International Financial Law Review and has also been awarded the NYSE Euronext prize for the most active law firm in capital markets.
