Samuel Fernandes de Almeida (Partner) writes an opinion article for Frontline Magazine, in which he comments on the unit-linked case, stating that it is "a singular case on the working of tax justice and the erroneous use of public resources in a presumed pursuit of public interest".

"Unit-linked capitalisation insurance is a financial product that combines a life insurance policy, expressed in units of account, whose profitability is indexed to the valorisation of a set of assets reinvested by the insurance company (shares, bonds, participation in other funds, etc.). It is, therefore, a life insurance product associated with an investment portfolio held by the company and whose profitability is indexed to a portfolio of assets."
