Carla Gonçalves Borges, Head Partner of the Litigation & Arbitration Area, and Ricardo Ramos Lourenço, Trainee in the same Area, are the authors of the article ‘The assistance of state courts in obtaining evidence for the benefit of arbitration proceedings: Where we are and where we want to go,’ published in the 23rd volume of the International Journal of Arbitration and Conciliation.

In this article, the authors analyse the regime established in Article 38 of the Voluntary Arbitration Law concerning the assistance of state courts in obtaining evidence in arbitration proceedings. They reflect on the limits and framework of such intervention and contribute to the discussion on the application of this regime.
