Marta Alves Vieira (Of Counsel) writes a co-authored article on the developments and implications of 3D printing on intellectual property, following the publication of the Position Paper on 3D Printing and its Implications on Design Law, prepared by the task force of ECTA's Design Committee, of which she is a member.
This Position Paper takes a stand on the implications of 3D printing on intellectual property and, in particular, on design law (designs or models). This paper was approved and sent by ECTA to the European Commission in April. Given that the Commission is currently reviewing the European design legislation, the preparation of this paper is of special interest.
