Joaquim Pedro Lampreia (partner) is quoted in an article on Jornal de Negócios on the easing by the tax office to register non-usual residents to subtract on the IRS.

“The non-residents that dedicate to high added value activities no longer have to go through a proceeding of previous recognition, being enough to sign up in the finances and present the documents asked by the tax office to ensure their situation”.

On the fact that this easiness can bring abuses, the partner states that “it may occur some abuse but the truth is that this is the way the system should work, trusting the tax payer, and then the Tax office should do its role”.
