António de Magalhães Cardoso, Partner at VdA, is the author of the article ‘Interim and Precautionary Measures in the UPC- Initial Approaches ’, published in Issue 1/2026 of Revista de Direito Intelectual.

Drawing on the case law of the Unified Patent Court and comparing it with decisions of the Lisbon Court of Appeal, the article examines four key issues relating to the grant of interim and precautionary measures: patent validity, imminent infringement, urgency and the balancing of the parties’ interests.
