"Ten years after the United Nations established corporate responsibility for Human Rights through the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), the European Union is preparing to legislate on the mandatory nature of the duty of due diligence in this area, as well as in environmental and good governance issues. The proposed Directive on Corporate Due Diligence and Corporate Responsibility presents a new due diligence horizon, with associated sanctions, which (if adopted) will materialise new ESG paradigm."
