Miguel Mendes Pereira, Of Counsel at VdA's Competition & EU area of practice, talked to i newspaper about the reform of regulators the Government is preparing further to the troika's recommendation. He prepared a study at the request of the Association of Telecommunications' Operators (Apritel - Associação dos Operadores de Telecomunicações) proposing three regulatory models as solutions.

Although there have been some advances in what regards regulation in Portugal, the country "still has a long way to go", writes the newspaper quoting the lawyer, in its 18th July edition.

When approaching regulation reform, "it is not so much due to the complex issues arising at a legal level, but at a political level that difficulties arise", says Mendes Pereira.
