Sofia Ribeiro Branco (Partner) is quoted in an article in Jornal de Negócios on the prison sentence imposed on fraud committed via the Internet, following the growing number of criminal schemes that attack citizens and companies in the context of the pandemic.
The member states "although this situation is not in itself legally considered for the crimes in question to be qualified, the circumstance of exploiting the pandemic situation, which basically means exploiting vulnerabilities, will be considered in the graduation of the penalty".
