On 17 July, the Angolan Bar Association (OAA) and the Commercial Arbitration Centre (CAC) organised the first edition of the Angola Arbitration Congress, which took place at the Palace of Justice in Luanda.
António Caxito Marques, partner at PRIME Advogados, moderated the panel on ‘Developments in Arbitration in Angola – From Law Revision to New Challenges’. Mariana França Gouveia, a partner at VdA, chaired the opening session and participated as a speaker on the panel “Arbitration institutions – Which, where and how?”.
The event aimed to establish Angola as a leading jurisdiction in the field of arbitration and to promote the development of an arbitration culture in the Portuguese-speaking world.
