Assunção Cristas and Magda Cocco are speakers in the 33rd Foresight Meeting, an initiative dedicated to the reflection and analysis of structuring issues for the country's development and international positioning.

The meeting takes place from 2 to 5 September at the Convento da Arrábida, with a programme structured around four main themes that guide each day's debate: "New paradigms of science and innovation and financing models", "A new era of international scientific cooperation, security and sustainability", "The ecological transition in urban systems" and "Sustainable management of soils and coastal zones".

Magda Cocco participates on the first day of the event, in a panel on "The case of the banking sector and knowledge-based services and implications for the regulatory system". This panel will address topics such as: "Science and Innovation supported by Artificial Intelligence (AI)" and "Regulatory challenges – the European case versus the USA and Brazil".

On the second day, Assunção Cristas participates in the panel on "The political, economic, regulatory, socio-cultural and scientific conditions for a new era of global competition and cooperation between Europe, Africa and Latin America". This panel will include reflections on "New "green finance" mechanisms and innovative forms of relations between the public and private sectors for the emerging digital transition" and "Challenges and opportunities for regulating carbon markets at the international level (e.g., EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism; " European Union Deforestation Regulation").
