VdA Academia sets out the 3rd Edition of the Executive Program “Women on Boards”, a program that begins today, 8 May, and will be taking place on 9, 10, 23 and 24 May at VdA’s headquarters, in Lisbon.

Women on Boards Program aims to contribute to the promotion of gender equality, enabling and empowering women to perform functions in management and supervisory bodies, through the development of a broad, complete and essential knowledge matrix for the resolution of situations in business practice and, in this way, respond to one of the new challenges facing the Portuguese business fabric.

Over the course of 5 days, management, legal and behavioural content will be addressed, providing the development of knowledge and skills in areas fundamental to the successful exercise of functions in management and supervisory bodies. In a context of proximity and sharing, the participants will also have networking opportunities with guest speakers and Key Note Speakers, getting to know their experience and the challenges they face as managers.

The inaugural session of the Programme will feature a presentation by Vera Pinto Pereira, Executive Member of the Board of Directors of EDP Energias de Portugal S.A. and CEO of EDP Comercial, on the theme: "From Media to Energy - An Unexpected Journey". Mariana Branquinho, of PWN, Steven Braekeveldt, CEO of AGEAS, Nicolau Santos, CEO of LUSA Agency and Carlos Tavares Nunes, Vice-President of CITE, are invited to the 3rd Edition of WoB as Key Note Speakers.

The 3rd edition of WoB, besides the usual partners - Oporto Business School/University of Oporto (PBS) and Professional Women's Network Lisbon (PWN Lisbon), has also the presence of Luíz Nazaret from ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics & Management, as trainer, and 12 participants from companies in several sectors of business activity and associations.

Women on Boards Executive Program was created to respond to the new challenges faced by the Portuguese business community with the entry into force of Law 62/2017, of 1 August, which establishes a more balanced representation of women and men in the management and supervisory bodies of listed companies and public corporate sector entities.
