Caio de Mello Ferreira
Caio de Mello Ferreira joined VdA in 2023 and is an associate in the Oil & Gas practice. He has worked on projects and transactions in the international shipping industry, particularly in African jurisdictions, acting for the full range of industry participants, including shipowners and charterers, cargo interests, P&I Clubs, banks, shipyards, port operators, brokers and agents.
He has also served as a member of a working group of the International Seabed Authority, a United Nations agency, tasked with consolidating the exploitation regulations for the Area, and has attended two sessions of the Council of the Authority on behalf of the Secretariat.
Additionally, Caio has completed a secondment in the shipping, offshore and transportation practice area at a leading firm in Copenhagen.

Master's degree (teaching part) in Business Law and Technology – Nova School of Law.
Postgraduate Course in Maritime Law – Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
Before joining the firm, he worked as a Junior Legal Counsel at a StartUp called BrandHero.
Admitted to the Portuguese Bar Association.
