João Manuel Lourenço joined PRIME Advogados in 2025.
João specializes in labour law, including hiring, restructuring, labour audits, individual and collective labour negotiations, compensation and benefits, disciplinary proceedings, and dismissal procedures. He has led collective dismissals involving hundreds of employees in both public and private companies, including operations across multiple jurisdictions.
Additionally, João handled the labour matters in shareholding acquisitions, as well as in the mergers and de-mergers of financial institutions, under the supervision of the Banco Nacional de Angola [National Bank of Angola]. In civil law,
João has managed claims and defences in bankruptcy proceedings and mass debt collection cases. João also has extensive experience representing clients in criminal cases, including economic crimes, in multiple districts nationwide.

Before joining PRIME Advogados, he was a head partner of the Labour and Employment Litigation practice at Dentons LEAD in Angola. Prior to joining the firm, João was a senior associate at ALC Advogados. Before that, he worked at FBL Advogados, where he rose from trainee to senior associate.
