Samuel Fernandes de Almeida is quoted in an article published in Jornal Económico on the measure implemented under the Portuguese Government's new plan to combat fraud.

"The measure can be of "enormous use" if by databases one also understands all the information received under requests for exchange of information on request and spontaneously with other authorities. The tax expert explains that economic crimes and tax fraud mechanisms are, as a rule, crimes involving several jurisdictions and "this is where the Public Prosecutor's Office certainly faces enormous difficulties in gathering evidence and clues".
