VdA has launched the book “Legal Insights on Timorese Law — More than 10 years of VdA in Timor-Leste”, a work that reflects the firm’s contribution to the development and consolidation of the legal framework in Timor-Leste. The book brings together articles from various areas of law relevant to the country, written by Paula Gomes Freire, Ana Luís de Sousa, Catarina Pinto Correia, João Afonso Fialho, Magda Cocco, Pedro Cassiano Santos Rodrigo Esteves de Oliveira, Teresa Empis Falcão, Filipe de Vasconcelos Fernandes, Carlos Couto, João Almeida Filipe, Marina Costa Cabral, Rui Gordete Almeida, Tomás Cabral Anunciação, Eduardo Moita, Gonçalo Le Terrien Fragoso and Beatriz Baião do Nascimento, and is the result of more than a decade of accumulated experience in monitoring structural projects in sectors such as energy, infrastructure, transport and public regulation. Published in Portuguese, Tetum and English, the book aims to share the knowledge and experience acquired by VdA in Timor-Leste, contributing to the analysis and discussion of legal issues essential to the country's economic, social and institutional development. For Paula Gomes Freire, Managing Partner at VdA, ‘this work, which shares knowledge, precisely reflects this recognition and ambition and underlines our commitment to our clients, partners and to the development of Timor-Leste, on the path to a promising future.’ ‘Reflexões jurídico-legais do Direito Timorense’ is a testament to VdA's commitment to Timor-Leste and the joint work carried out with its institutions, in a cooperation process that has already lasted more than a decade and has been guided by the promotion of the rule of law and the strengthening of national legal capacities.
