VdA and NOVA School of Law are pleased to invite you to attend the first WhatNext.Law Talk that will take place online, on Thursday, 27 May, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm WEST, having as keynote speaker Professor Sofia Ranchordás, Full Professor of European and Comparative Public Law & Rosalind Franklin Fellow, University of Groningen – Faculty of Law.

The Talk will address the concept of data-driven regulation and governance in the context of smart cities while unveiling how these urban centres harness these technologies to collect and process information about citizens, traffic, urban planning or waste production and to determine the content of local regulation and governance.

Tiago Bessa, Partner at Vieira de Almeida and Tiago de Melo Cartaxo, Guest Professor at NOVA School of Law, will comment the session and Fabrizio Esposito, Assistant Professor at NOVA School of Law, will moderate the Q&A.
