Helena Correia Mendonça will participate as a speaker at the NASA Space Apps Challenge Lisbon, where she will present the topic 'Space Law: Essential Legal Insights' on 4 October.

The NASA Space Apps Challenge is a global initiative by NASA that brings together local communities interested in space and science, fostering collaborative and transparent work. Participants are challenged to use NASA’s publicly available data to develop solutions that support space exploration and help improve life on Earth.

The solutions can take many forms, including digital applications, data visualisation and scientific simulations, interactive maps, vehicle design, open-source tools, games or data analysis models. They may also include ideas to make life in space easier or increase public knowledge about space exploration.

Helena Correia Mendonça's participation in this initiative highlights the relevance of the legal perspective, emphasising the role of space law as a fundamental element in guiding innovation and technological development.
