Marta Alves Vieira and David Paula took part in the 43rd Annual Conference of the European Communities Trade Mark Association (ECTA), held from 18 to 20 June in Berlin under the theme ‘Bears on the loose’.
In addition to presentations and workshops on topics related to intellectual property, this conference included meetings of ECTA’s governing bodies and various committees, in which VdA was represented.
Marta Alves Vieira is a member and secretary of the Design Committee and part of its leadership team. In this capacity, she organised another Committee meeting and delivered a presentation on 3D printing within the context of the reform of European Union design legislation.
David Paula attended the conference for the first time and will assume the role of member of the Internet Committee in July.
ECTA is one of the largest and most prestigious intellectual property organisations, with which VdA has been actively and consistently involved for several years.
“It is incredible to be part of the ECTA family, not only because of its members' in-depth knowledge across multiple areas of intellectual property, but also due to the truly welcoming and enthusiastic atmosphere it fosters. Furthermore, for the first time, the ICT area has joined forces with this major international intellectual property event in the ICT sector, demonstrating that sharing diverse perspectives and expertise encourages innovative solutions—reinforcing VdA’s commitment to excellence and continuous advancement in the IP field.” – Marta Alves Vieira and David Paula
