Ana Luís de Sousa participated in the III Energy and Environment Forum 2025, an initiative promoted by Jornal Expansão in Angola, which brought together experts and decision-makers from the national and international energy sector.
In her intervention, Ana Luís de Sousa raised the question: “Should the country adopt energy exports as a strategic pillar of its economic growth?”, defending that ‘energy exports to neighbour countries are an excellent opportunity for Angola’.
She also emphasised the importance of exploiting the surplus energy production in the north of the country, considering it an opportunity that should not be “wasted”, and highlighting the transformative role that the energy sector can play in the development of the Angolan economy.
During her speech, she identified three strategic pillars for the sustainable development of the energy sector in Angola:
- Reinforcing network infrastructure;
- Diversifying energy sources and decentralising production; and
- Creating incentive mechanisms capable of attracting private investment.
