Cláudia Camacho Coelho lectures at the Chartered Accountants Bar in Funchal
Cláudia Camacho Coelho, Vieira de Almeida & Associados (VdA)'s lawyer at Madeira's office will be lecturing at the Chartered Accountants Bar, in Funchal on the 3 and 4 November between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.. Cláudia Coelho will be lecturing on the Insolvency Code, approaching issues such as the insolvency proceeding, the Chartered Accountants' responsibility, entities able for insolvency declaration, effects of the insolvency proceeding, taxes concerning insolvency, special regimen considering individual insolvency, among others.
The course aims to instruct Chartered Accountants on the proceedings regarding insolvency cases, as these are regularly demanded. Portugal has had a ten per cent rise in companies' insolvencies in the last nine months, whereas in Madeira there were 73 insolvency cases. These are numbers from Companhia de Seguro de Créditos (Cosec).
At a national level there were 3.408 insolvency cases, mainly regarding the building/construction sectors and commerce, which accounted for 27 per cent and 21 per cent, respectively, of the overall insolvencies in the country.
