Vieira de Almeida & Associados (VdA)'s lawyer, from the Competition & EU area of practice, with a PhD degree at the University of London, Queen Mary, in IT and Copyright, Sofia de Vasconcelos Casimiro will be speaking at the conference under the scope of the 11th Summer Intensive Course on Information Society Law and Authors Rights, which is coordinated by professors José de Oliveira Ascensão and Dário Moura Vicente.

Although Information Society has brought enormous benefits, it has also extended warfare to the fifth dominium: after land, sea, air and space, warfare entered the cyberspace. The new threats to organizations and governments through the power to corrupt and destroy information systems and their data, and the Portuguese laws which can give responses to these new realities, will also be addressed.
