Tiago Marreiros Moreira is interviewed by Jornal Económico in the context of the official announcement of the end of the Non-Habitual Resident Status, the tax regime that has allowed a reduction in Personal Income Tax (IRS) for pensioners or foreign workers in certain professions.

The lawyer states that "ending the Non-Habitual Resident (NHR) regime in 2024 will eliminate one of the only tax competitiveness instruments that Portugal has to attract qualified talent in high value-added activities, which will be fundamental for the development of key sectors of the economy, such as technology, energy, industry and the automotive sector, channelling this talent and investment to other European countries with similar regimes (United Kingdom, Spain, Italy and Greece)".
