Legal challenges and implications for companies

VdA, APGEI and Porto Business School are promoting the session "Artificial Intelligence Regulation", which will take place on 28 February, between 9.15 and 11am, in the Sonae Auditorium at Porto Business School.

On 2 February, the text of the Artificial Intelligence Regulation (AI Regulation) was approved.
The final step in the legislative process will be its formal adoption at the plenary session of the European Parliament, scheduled for April 2024, after which it will be published in the Official Journal of the European Union.

This regulation represents an important milestone in protecting fundamental rights, promoting democracy, strengthening the rule of law and ensuring environmental sustainability in the context of the development and use of artificial intelligence. At the same time, it aims to boost innovation and position Europe as a leader in the field of AI.

The development of AI solutions and their use in the business and professional context has raised significant legal challenges, for which organisations must be prepared.
