From January 2009 onwards VdA’s Madeira practice has been under the stewardship of Paulo Clode Freitas, who takes on this new mantle after a solid career in Public Law as well as a period as Regional Secretary for the Environment and Natural Resources.

VdA has had a foothold in the Madeiran market since 2001 and continues to be devoted to providing a local service of top quality to all of its clients there, making its entire team available, along with resources and services in the local market, backed up as always in its offices by a concept of total integration that is the watchword in all of its offices.

For Managing Partner João Vieira de Almeida “the objective is to act as one team in each office we have, thus offering the entirety of our know-how regardless of the location in question”. With a total of 148 lawyers, VdA is devoted to maintaining its position amongst those leading local law firms, who offer legal advice in various areas of practice. “The standout feature of the period of the last seven years of activity in the Madeiran market has to be the fine contribution of the various areas of practice, carried out in a fully-integrated manner by a globally oriented team, with particular focus on the areas of Public Law, Real Estate and Urban development and Tax”, added João Vieira de Almeida.
