DESCRIPTION:VdA and the  Portuguese Foundation Centre  are organising the e
 vent  ‘Foundations and Compliance: Strategies and Solutions’ \, which 
 will take place on  December 10  from  9.15am  to  11.45am  at VdA's Lisbo
 n office. \n\n  \n\nThe current regulatory reality imposes a series of dut
 ies and obligations on economic agents\, including foundations. The pursui
 t of any foundation's mission is nowadays strongly conditioned by legal an
 d regulatory requirements\, in addition to compliance with principles of g
 ood ethical conduct and governance. Knowing the applicable regulatory fram
 ework\, adopting internal processes for implementing and monitoring compli
 ance\, involving the most relevant stakeholders and communicating internal
 ly and externally about the processes and results achieved are essential t
 ools for good management. The impact generated by the pursuit of the Found
 ations' purposes will be greater the more rigorous the compliance with app
 licable legislation and the adoption of best governance practices. \n\n  \
 n\nThe Portuguese Foundation Centre will present and make available to its
  member foundations a Self-Regulation and Compliance Guide\, which aims to
  compile normative information\, in an accessible and summarised form\, in
  order to support the process of fulfilling and complying with the legal r
 equirements and standards in force. \n\n  \n\n*This event will be held in
