Rui Andrade

Rui Andrade joined VdA in 2015. Partner of the Labour and Litigation & Arbitration practices.

Rui has an extensive experience coordinating matters of litigation, arbitration and labour in Angola, Mozambique, East Timor, Equatorial Guinea, São Tomé and Príncipe, Guinea Bissau and Cape Verde, representing and advising the most relevant national and international companies, including oil industry corporations.

Law Degree University of Lisbon Faculty of Law.

Post-graduation in Droit Communautaire de la Consommation - Faculté de Droit de l'Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium).

Lecturer in the Advanced Management Program on Human Resources, in the subject of Labor Law, at Catholic University Lisbon School of Business and Education

Prior to joining the firm was Partner at Lisbon-based law firm Nabais, Perez, Galamba, Sternberg & Associados (1995 - 1999).

Head of the Office of the Portuguese Secretary of State for Consumer Policy (2000 - 2002).

Partner and Head of Litigation and Labour at Miranda Correia Amendoeira & Associados (2002 - 2015).

While Head of the Office of the Portuguese Secretary of State for Consumer Policy, was the author and co-author of various laws, including the Law on Minimum Banking Services and the Law on Special Sales.

He is also the author of ‘The Education of Consumers - Rights and Duties of Consumers' (1997) and an insurance handbook, ‘Vocabulário de Seguros' (2002).

Admitted to the Portuguese Bar Association.

Admitted to the Timor-Leste Bar Association (Conselho de Gestão e Disciplina).

Member of the Portuguese Litigation Lawyers Circle.

Member of the Portuguese Arbitration Association.
