Luiza Savchenko

Luiza Savchenko joined VdA in 2017. Senior International Adviser of the Banking & Finance practice.

Luiza regularly advises on international debt and equity capital markets, corporate finance, banking and Islamic finance and cross-border M&A transactions in various industry sectors, including oil and gas, mining, energy and natural resources, financial and real estate sectors, with an emphasis on Russia, Africa and other emerging markets.

Law degree at the University of Wolverhampton, London, UK.

Masters in International and Commercial Dispute Resolution at the University of Westminster, London, UK.

Masters in Securities and Financial Regulations at the Georgetown University Law Center, Washington, D.C., USA.

Before joining the firm, Luiza worked at Rosneft Oil Company in Moscow, Russia, as a project manager on transactions involving foreign assets in various jurisdictions.

Prior to Rosneft, Luiza worked at Allen & Overy LLP’s Moscow office advising corporate clients and financial institutions on capital markets and complex cross-border M&A transactions in the banking, oil and gas, agriculture and consumer sectors.

Before Allen & Overy, Luiza worked at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP’s Washington, D.C. and Moscow offices representing investment banks and financial institutions, public and private companies in a wide variety of corporate finance, international debt and equity capital markets, M&A and private equity transactions, as well as corporate governance and disclosure issues in the mobile telecommunications, oil and gas, mining, financial, real estate and retail sectors.

Luiza also worked as a legal intern at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Corporation Finance, and as a corporate paralegal at Cleary Gottlieb Steen and Hamilton LLP’s London office.

Luiza is qualified in the State of New York and is a member of the New York Bar Association.
