Manuel Gouveia Pereira rejoined VdA in 2011. Managing Associate at the Environment area of practice where he has been  involved in several transactions, in Portugal and abroad, focused on environmental issues, namely in the energy (including renewables), water and wastes sectors, as well as various matters regarding environmental liability, brownfield sites, environmental funds, emissions trading, misdemeanor procedures, environmental tax matters, environmental impact assessment, environmental licensing and compliance, planning instruments and maritime affairs.

He also actively works in transactions and projects in the tourism and industry sectors, regarding all environment-related issues.

He has advised several clients in sectors such as wastes, energy, mining and maritime affairs.

Law Degree, Lusíada University of Lisbon, Faculty of Law.

Masters degree in Administrative Law, at the University of Lisbon, Faculty of Law.

Post-graduation in Planning and Environmental Law, at the University of Coimbra, Faculty of Law.

Certified professional for legal training (Professional Trainer Aptitude Certificate - CAP).

Teacher of the Planning Law module in the Post-graduation course regarding Real Estate Management and Assessment, at the Portuguese Institute for Development and Economic, Financial and Corporate Studies (IDEFE) – ISEG.

Professional Trainer Aptitude Certificate (CAP).

Speaks regularly at conferences, seminars and workshops, particularly regarding environmental, energy and sustainability issues.

Teacher of the Environmental Law in the seminar of Politics and Innovation in Environment, in the integrated masters course of Environmental Engineering, at the Sciences and Technology faculty (FCT) of the New University of Lisbon (UNL).

Before joining the firm he worked as legal adviser to the Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning, in the XVIII Constitutional Government, between 2009 and 2011, and as legal adviser to the Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning and Regional Development, in the XVII Constitutional Government, between 2007 and 2009, being responsible for the legislative process where he actively worked in several areas such as water, maritime affaires, wastes, environmental liability and licensing procedures.

Between 2003 and 2007 he worked at Vieira de Almeida & Associados as an associate integrated in the Real Estate, Planning & Environment practice group.
