Leonor Bettencourt Nunes

Leonor Bettencourt Nunes joined VdA in 2019. She is a Senior Associate of the Competition & EU practice area.

Law degree, University of Lisbon, Faculty of Law.

LLM in European Law, King’s College of London.

Assistant professor of the Economic Law, Economic and Monetary Union and International Economic Law at University of Lisbon Faculty of Law, from 2017 to 2020.

Before joining the firm, she worked, from 2017 to 2019, as a Legal Advisor to the Minister of Economy and then to the Minister in the Cabinet of the Prime Minister and of Economy, both of the XXI Constitutional Government.

She also worked as a trainee lawyer and associate at Morais Leitão, Galvão Teles, Soares da Silva & Associados, from 2013 to 2017.

She was a trainee lawyer at the law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (2013), in Brussels, and at the European Commission, DG Competition (2012).

Co-author of articles in journals of the specialty, namely the International Law Office, and regular contributions to the ECLR – European Competition Law Review.
