Joana Piriquito Santos

Joana Piriquito Santos joined VdA in 2016. She is Managing Associate at the IP Litigation area of practice where she has been actively involved in Intellectual Property litigation, such as patents, namely pharmaceutical's litigation.

Before joining the firm she worked at the Portuguese Industrial Property Institute as Patent Examiner and at Clarke Modet & Co Portugal as Intellectual Property Consultant. She also attended Pratika Intern in the European Patent Office in Munich.

Co-Author of the article “The use of dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) to evaluate plasticization of acrylic polymer films under simulated gastrointestinal conditions” in the European Journal of Pharmaceutics and Biopahmaceutics.

Admitted to the Portuguese Pharmacists Association.

Admitted to the Portuguese Bar Association.

Portuguese Patent Attorney and Trademark and Design Professional Representative before the EUIPO.

Member of ACPI – Portuguese Association of Consultants in Intellectual Property.

Vice-President of the Patents Commission of UNION-IP and member of the Standing Advisory Committee of the European Patent Office (SACEPO WP Guidelines).
