Hugo Pinheiro Ferreira joined VdA in 2015. Associate at the Tax practice area. He has been involved in several transactions, in Portugal and cross-border, such as the issuance of equity and classical and innovative debt instruments.
He advises on the taxation of funding structures and investment instruments.
He also actively participates on domestic and international tax planning and on tax litigation matters.
Law degree at Catholic University of Portugal, Lisbon School of Law.
Masters in Tax Law at Catholic University of Portugal, Lisbon School of Law.
Masters dissertation on “The value of the Commentaries to the OECD Model in the light of protocols and other collateral agreements annexed to Double Taxation Agreements”.
Before joining the firm he worked as a Trainee at Gama Glória (2014/2015) and, previously, at PwC Portugal as an Assistant Tax Consultant (2013/2014). He was also a Summer Clerk at the Tax department of Garrigues Portugal (2012).
Author of various books and articles, namely:
Admitted to the Portuguese Bar Association.
Member of the International Fiscal Association and to the Portuguese Tax Association.
